Configuring the PC operating system and browser for Bayard InSite Access

General Notes:
• If you upgrade your system after setup for InSite you will need to redo all system and browser settings and re-install Java to be compatible with InSite.

• Internet Explorer users should turn on " Compatibility " before proceeding. If any time you see type or objects out of place on screen be sure to turn on Internet Explorer " Compatibility ".

• Ensure the "Pop-up Blocker" in your browser is unchecked ( disabled ).

• The standard Java message, "Do you want to run this application" and an additional yellow boxed Java warning message can be disabled. If you select "Do no show this again", these messages will not appear again until you clear your Java cache.
 

The first thing you must do is to check if Java is installed on your computer.

1. CLICK HERE and follow the prompts to check if Java is installed on your computer..

2. If Java is installed on your computer skip step 3 and proceed to "Browser Setup"

3. If your computer does not have Java installed CLICK HERE and follow the prompts to install.

4. If you just installed Java please restart your computer before proceeding.
 

Browser setup for the following System / Browsers

Microsoft Windows XP
Using Internet Explorer 8, FireFox 24 or greater, Chrome 30 or greater

Microsoft Windows 7
Using Internet Explorer 8, FireFox 24 or greater, Chrome 30 or greater

Microsoft Windows 8
Using Internet Explorer 10 or 11, FireFox 24 or greater, Chrome 30 or greater
 

Please complete the following:

1. In "Control Panels" double-click the "Java Control Pannel" and select the Java > Security tab.

2. Be sure "Enable Java content in the browser" is checked.

3. "Under Exception Site List", click "Edit Site List" and add https://prepress.bayardprinting.com then click OK.
 

Additionally, If using Internet Explorer 10 or 11 in HTML5 your browser should be in "Compatibility Mode"

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Open the "TOOLS" menu at the top right on Internet Explorer

3. Scroll down to "DEVELOPER TOOLS" and release to activate.

4. In the "DEVELOPER WINDOW TOOLBAR" that opens click on "BROWSER MODE"

5. From the "BROWSER MODE" list scroll down to "COMPATIBILITY MODE" and release to activate.

6. When finished click the "X" at the far right of the DEVELOPER WINDOW TOOLBAR" to close
 

Testing Your PC / Internet Explorer InSite Compatibility

Your PC System should now be setup for full compatibility with InSite. To test it's compatibility follow the steps below:

1. Go to prepress.bayardprinting.com

2. On the Login page select the link " System Diagnostics " ( it is not necessary to login to perform this "System Diagnostic" test )

3. A window will open prompting you that this process may take a minute or more. If you are prompted " "Accept a certificate" please click " Trust " if Prompted to " Allow an Applet from prepress.bayardprinting.com" please click "Allow ".

4. When the process is complete you will see the diagnostic for your system. It should clear your system for complete compatibility with InSite. Problems will appear as red type. Since this is the latest version of Java it may not be completely approved by InSite but will still function completely. The only true test is to try it.

We at Bayard Digital Development have tested this version and while it may return some red warning is the "System Diagnostic" test it does function completely with InSite.
